This piece is from a larger series of Scanned Still Lives that I painted from scanned images I created. I put real flowers and fruit on a flatbed scanner, and moved them around during the scanning process to create a digitally distorted and 'pulled' still life image. This piece references traditional Dutch still life painting from the 1600-1800's, but with a contemporary twist.
